The former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, was reported to have died this evening.
However, the sad tale that soon spread like wildfire, was debunked by the media spokesman of the astute politician, Bolaji Tunji.
Ajimobi, who was recently appointed as the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress by the National Working Committee of the party is being treated for Covid-19 complications.
Tunji, in a Facebook post, said “Kindly disregard all the rumours, just rumours. In all, we remain prayerful.”

The former lawmaker fell ill after testing positive to Coronavirus and was reported to be in a critical condition.
He ruled Oyo State for eight years before he was appointed by Adams Oshiomhole as the Deputy National Chairman (South-West) of APC.
